Cifam was created in 1979 with the principal aim of manufacturing brake and clutch hydraulics originally as a "spin off" to the activities initiated by Metelli in 1975.

Cifam was then transformed into a separate private limited company (S.p.A.) in 1984.

With a view to maximizing their respective resources and expertise, a merger took place with Metelli in 1996.

All product that bears the brand name Cifam, with its over thirty years of experience in the automotive field, is synonymous throughout the world with high quality and state of the art technology in brake parts and transmission.

Metelli Co. exports its products to over 90 countries throughout the world, covering all the continents: Europe, Africa, Asia, America and Oceania.

This makes the company a true all-rounder, able to cater for the needs of different markets and, at the same time, convey the image of integrity and reliability that has always distinguished it.

The firm has a very mixed customer base: from the independent aftermarket (I.A.M.), to the original equipment suppliers (OES), to the original equipment manufacturers (OEM).
